2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier, Gymnastics Coach, Garden State Track Club Athlete
Alexandra is a 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier. She is a former gymnast and full-time gymnastics coach. Alexandra started running in 2007 when she stopped competing in gymnastics, because she enjoyed competition, but never thought it would become a second athletic “career.” She ran her first marathon in the fall of 2011. Her goal was to qualify for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, which she missed by 45 seconds. In early 2018 she ran a 5 minute PR at the Newport News One City Marathon and qualified to the 2020 Trials with a time of 2:40:43
I have always had a hard time eating much of anything before races and early long runs. One of those pieces I hadn’t focused on much was pre-race and pre-workout nutrition. I used UCAN throughout the fall of 2017 for training and it didn’t upset my stomach at all. I now use the UCAN Energy powders before races and when I have an early morning long run or workout. I also like to use the UCAN Bars when I am at work. I am a gymnastics coach and work late hours, so having the bars on hand to get me through five to six hours of coaching is very helpful. I am thankful that my coach suggested UCAN as I can use it not only for training purposes, but also for everyday life.
