Anita is a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she competed on the cross country and track teams. After a 5-year break from running, Anita returned to the sport and ran her first marathon just before her 30th birthday, finishing 5th at the 2012 Dallas Marathon. She competed in the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials and has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials.
Since my first marathon in 2012, UCAN has been my primary fuel source for all of my races from the 10k up to the marathon. On marathon race day, I use 2 servings of UCAN pre-race and UCAN + Hydrate along the way. In my training, whether it’s track days, tempo days, long runs or easy runs, I start every day with at least 1 to 2 scoops of UCAN. I also use UCAN + protein for recovery on my hard days. I never actually realized how important of a fuel source UCAN was until I forgot to drink it one day before a workout! #neveragain #lessonlearned
