UCAN is a product that’s going to be with us for a long time and anyone who’s not using it could be missing a key edge. It’s the only product on the market that offers a complex carbohydrate that doesn’t affect your blood sugar insulin levels the way normal simple starches do. You want to try to avoid those peaks and crashes with your insulin and blood sugar levels as much as possible because if your blood sugar levels drop, it’s going to be harder to start generating energy. We give our athletes UCAN to keep their blood sugar stable, which helps them better utilize fat for fuel and sparing their glycogen for when they need it the most, which is late in the game or on the second night when we play back to back.
