4X Olympian, Marathon Runner, Alpine Skier, Lebanese Marathon Record Holder
Chirine is an elite marathoner based in Chicago running for the Second City Track Club. She represented Lebanon at the winter Olympic Games as an Alpine skier in 2002, 2006, and 2010. Upon moving to Chicago in 2011, she fell in love with running. In 2016, she qualified for the Olympic marathon in Rio and made history for Lebanon by becoming its first dual Olympian. In 2017, at the Chicago Marathon, Chirine also became the women’s marathon record holder for Lebanon. She is looking to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics again for Lebanon in the marathon.
When I moved from competing in the winter Olympics as an alpine skier to long-distance running, I knew very little about proper aerobic nutrition. By trying every type of bar or gel out there, I got myself down from 3:07 to a 2:46 marathon but never had that sustained energy to compete at elite levels. UCAN has been a game changer for me. It was the missing piece that has given me the endurance to drop my time to 2:39. I believe in UCAN. It gives me the confidence to train and perform at my best.
