2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier
Joy is a small-town Irish girl living the American dream. With dual citizenship, Joy qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, but plans to pursue the 2020 Irish team. Joy is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where she competed on their Track and Field team. Joy work in sales full-time for Orangetheory Fitness and bartends on the weekends when she is not racing. Joy qualified for the 2020 U.S. Marathon Trials at the 2020 Houston Marathon with a PR of 2:43:21, after running a 2:46 in a marathon just 1 month before.
In the 10 weeks leading up to my OTQ at the Houston Marathon, I ran a total of 5 half marathons and one marathon a month out from my goal race at Houston. I could not have trained and recovered from these hard efforts if it wasn’t for UCAN. I fuel pre-race and training with UCAN Performance Energy, use UCAN + Protein for my recovery, and drink UCAN Hydrate daily (berry is my fav). I love to mix it with Plain UCAN in my fuel bottles to consume during hard workouts.
