“As a marathoner, I started using UCAN SuperStarch before long runs, workouts, and races to provide me with an easily digestible source of sustained energy. Over the years, I have struggled with a sensitive stomach and tried many different brands of sports drinks, powders, and gels. UCAN has allowed me to take in less simple sugars during longer endurance efforts. As a pediatric diabetes educator and sports dietitian, I often recommend UCAN to my patient athletes. With type 1 diabetes, it can be very difficult to manage blood sugars during activity.  Since UCAN is a slower digesting carbohydrate, I do not see the same blood sugar spike and fall that occurs with simple carb sources. I would be interested to see more research done with this population during sport.”
